Update & Workouts

I have been recently diagnosed with a condition that unfortunately has no cure or medicine to treat it. I feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under me. At times over the past couple weeks I have felt relief, curious, sorry for myself, depressed, angry at doctors and my parents, sad, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Sometimes I feel like ignorance was bliss and perhaps not knowing would have been better, but other times I feel hope that maybe I'll be able to find some relief. Holistic doctors recommend Qi Gong and improving posture to unblock chi, so I’m sure you will see me posting a lot of Qi Gong, stretching, and Yoga workouts to see if they help. I will be seeing a specialist soon, so occupational therapy may also be another avenue I try.
I’ve been told a gluten-free diet may also help. I admit I do not know a lot about it other than to avoid wheat; common in bread, pasta, and faux soy meats. I am learning more and will try this route to see if it helps. My husband picked up some gluten-free bread this morning and we were shocked by the price - $6 for half a loaf. Why is it if a product has something removed from it, it costs more?? Anyway, so long pizza, pasta, fake meats – I know they weren’t healthy anyway, on the bright side, maybe this will help speed up weight loss efforts.

Workouts

Workouts completed last week were:

I am loving this new Leslie Walk workout. The music is so much better (some of the vocal songs are Neon Trees' Everybody Talks, Pink's Get the Party Started, Jennifer Lopez's Lets Get Loud), the moves are fun and more towards aerobics than just walking, but still low impact. The set is bright & colorful, the participants are a wide range of ethnicities and ages. I've been doing just a mile at a time. You can do each mile separately and there is a music only option, which I appreciate! I look forward to her new Walk to the Party Hits out in December.

This is newly purchased. I've always loved Classical Stretch - it makes you feel stretched out, warm, and overall good. I did a pain relief episode; #2 for hips and foot pain. While doing it I felt great (while modifying some of the plies to avoid knee pain), afterwards I felt some soreness and kept cracking from my hips, thighs, knees, ankles, and feet.

I love this DVD. I believe it is one of their best. While I enjoy Kundalini Yoga, I also greatly enjoy meditation and love that this has so many options. My favorites are the Wahay Guru meditation and the singing mantra. I also like the full body meditation and several others. I always do a combination but never the whole DVD at once. I like that you can pick and choose. I hope they do another DVD in this vein.

Some new workouts I purchased but have yet to do...

I only purchased Phase 1 of Body Revolution since I rarely do a program more than a month - I get bored easily and need mental stimulation along with my workouts.
